GreenXT is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to support new contracts with the U.S. Navy.

This position will be supporting the AN/USQ-82(V) Program. The AN/USQ-82(V) is the family of mission-critical shipboard networks used to transfer data and messages between systems such as the DDG-51 Machinery Control System (MCS) and Integrated Bridge and Navigation System (IBNS) on US Navy ship classes (DDG-51, etc.) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) ships.
Responsibilities:
- Leads a team of engineering technicians in all field support, on-site support, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting efforts for AN/USQ-82(V).
- Leads all installation, test & evaluation, troubleshooting, repair and alteration of AN/USQ-82(V) equipment for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) installations.
- Develops equipment installation and test procedures.
- Investigates, analyzes, and resolves AN/USQ-82(V) system issues.
- Provide on-site support for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) host government and industrial activities as it relates to AN/USQ-82(V) equipment.
Requirements:
- Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain this clearance upon position acceptance) will be required.
- BS in Engineering or High school/vocational school degree or GED certificate and five (5) years of experience.
- Fifteen (15) years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and testing of U.S. Navy interior communications systems, networks and/or network user systems.
- Experience with AN/USQ-82(V) Systems, Gigabit Ethernet Data Multiplex System (GEDMS) or Fiber Optic Data Multiplex System (FODMS).
- Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. Exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs.
- Ability to work on and climb ladders, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
- Some travel is required for this position due to the on-site nature of the role.
