Job Description
Green Expert Technology Inc. (GreenXT) is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer.
The candidate will design and develop layouts and construction drawings, create CAD-based models, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project compliance and system integration. Responsibilities include prototyping, testing, cost estimation, and supporting manufacturing and installation efforts. Additional duties may include budgeting, maintenance planning, subcontractor oversight, and regulatory interpretation. for the NSWCPD, specifically for the Auxiliary Machinery Systems Division.

Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the design and construction of projects, ensuring adherence to standards and promptly resolving issues.
- Perform technical reviews of designs, calculations, and specifications to ensure compliance with project objectives.
- Design and develop layouts and construction drawings for mechanical systems in accordance to NAVFAC standards
- Conduct field visits to gather data, inspect existing conditions, and develop project scopes based on site investigations.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure project objectives are met.
- Investigate and evaluate mechanical issues in existing facilities and recommend corrective measures.
- May include developing budgets, creating preventative maintenance plans, overseeing subcontractors, and interpreting regulations.
- Spearhead the development of products or components, from initial planning and sketching to testing and prototyping.
- Create designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Work with manufacturing teams during production and collaborate with other engineers to ensure designs are feasible.
- Build prototypes, conduct tests, and analyze the data to meet performance, efficiency, and safety standards.
- Calculate cost estimates, including labor, materials, and overhead, for final designs.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
- Three (3) years’ experience providing project management, programmatic, engineering/technical support, test procedure development, testing, and onsite coordination.
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge managing and reviewing manufacturing and construction drawings that are submitted to NAVFAC for review and approval.
- Three (3) years of experience in Navy Ship Auxiliary systems design and testing and installation.
- Knowledge of NSWCPD System Engineering Program (SEP), Alterations (MACHALTs), engineering change proposals, and/or ship change documents (SCDs) processes.
- Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs.
- Ability to work on and climb ladders, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
