Job Summary
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team! This role will involve creating invoices, preparing bank reconciliations, processing accounts payable and receivable, performing journal entries, and assisting in maintaining the general ledger. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for contributing to the team’s success. This position is based in Haddonfield, NJ, and requires in-office days.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain this clearance upon position acceptance) is required for this position
- 3 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate well in a team environment
- Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Word; experience with basic office equipment
- Experience with QuickBooks and Deltek is a plus
- Ability to work on-site in Haddonfield, NJ, with required in-office days
- Apply a strong understanding of accounting principles and project cost accounting, including managing Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Invoicing, Bank Reconciliations, Payroll, and Expense & Time Collection Tracking.
- Set up and manage contracts in the accounting system, ensuring compliance with project specifications, invoicing requirements, billing formats, and workforce levels across various project stages.
- Follow up on outstanding receivables to ensure timely payments are made.
- Support day-to-day accounting tasks, including Accounts Payable, Expense Report processing, timesheet corrections, and data entry.
- Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient accounting filing system and records, including online folder management.
- Contribute to additional accounting functions as assigned, providing support to the team as needed.
