An Open Letter From the President of Green Expert Technology

Green Expert Technology (GreenXT) is an American company that proudly provides technical services to the United States Navy. Our company firmly believes in the ideals of America and in the American system of government. A foundation of America as stated in Declaration of Independence is that all people are created equal, and all people have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Many employees of GreenXT have worn a uniform to protect these rights and some, as reservists or guardsmen, continue to risk their own safety in service to our country. We are grateful that there are people who are willing to sacrifice for a higher purpose.

The United States Bill of Rights declares that Americans have the right to peaceably assemble and petition the government for the redress of grievances. Peaceful protest is not an insult to our government or our nation, it is a right. We who believe in America need to work to improve America. It is patriotic to peacefully protest in hopes of improving our nation. Those who march in peaceful protest and those who wear a uniform should not be pitted against one another because both are trying to improve America.

Recently we have all been horrified by videos of black citizens being brutalized and killed. Millions of Americans and people all over the world are protesting in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Now is not the time to equivocate. Now is not the time to append support for those in need. Now is not the time to air other grievances. It is a time to declare this simple but monumental understatement.

Black lives matter.

I sincerely hope that structural inequalities that exist in America can be remedied, soon. I pray for the safety of our police, our uniformed personnel, all our citizens, and for black lives. I think often about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s speeches. I think about the speech he gave in Memphis the night before he was murdered. I think of the people assembled in that church preparing themselves for the next day’s protest. Knowing that vicious dogs, water cannons, and other “non-lethal” weapons would be used against them. Knowing that pain, bruises, and lacerations awaited them. I think of Dr. King’s promise, “I have been to the mountaintop…and I’ve seen the promised land.” Dr. King knew that he would not get to see racial equality in his lifetime. He knew that the struggle would require continued effort and time.

As American citizens let us all seek to fulfill the ideals of our founding documents and let us heed Dr. King’s call to peacefully and righteously strive for a world where a person is judged solely by their character not by the color of their skin.

Work has begun on Green Expert Technology’s (GreenXT) new office at the Philadelphia Naval Business Center. Due to the rapid growth of our company, we have hired many new employees and this office expansion is a necessity. We will still have nice views of the parade grounds and inactive ship basin to go along with expanded conference rooms, workspaces and private offices," stated KJ Riepen, Chief Direct Operations Officer.

COVID-19 and Green Expert Technology

Working with our Navy customers, we have fully expanded our use of technology to continue apace on meeting project goals for all of the Navy programs that we support. The majority of our workforce is teleworking and utilizing Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other technologies to meet, collaborate, and progress on our work. We are grateful for our essential workers who have traveled in support of the U. S. Navy to ports both foreign and domestic during this unprecedented event. Every day, there are Green Expert Technology employees who are working smartly and safely onboard U. S. Navy ships in order to help maintain our nation’s strong defense. We wear masks, we socially distance, we take whatever steps we can to assure the safety of ourselves and those we meet and slow the spread of COVID-19. The U. S. Navy remains strong throughout this global pandemic and Green Expert Technology is doing our part to help.
